Ed McCarron, P. Eng.

Ed McCarron has a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo and is a Licensed Professional Engineer, as well as a Designated Consulting Engineer. He has over 25 years of forensic experience during which he has independently investigated and analysed more than 1200 motor vehicle accidents and product failures in several provinces.

Mr. McCarron’s work focuses on complex personal injury, product failure and code assessment cases. His work has involved: analysing dashcam and security videos of accidents; downloading, testing and interpreting data from event data recorders; nighttime visibility studies and assessment of driver perception-response times; low speed accident analysis; vehicle rollover and occupant motion analysis; bicycle accident and pathway design analysis; trip analysis and code assessments. He also has experience in automotive part design, testing and production.

Mr. McCarron has appeared as an expert witness for both plaintiffs and defendants and he has been qualified to give expert testimony in the field of accident reconstruction at various levels of court in Ontario, New Brunswick and British Columbia.

In his spare time, Ed enjoys hiking, cycling, cross-country skiing and vintage bicycle repair.
